The NICS WELL programme provides Northern Ireland Civil Service employees and associated agencies with support, education and information on a wide range of health and wellbeing issues as a way of improving their overall health and wellbeing.
Friday 20th September marked the first anniversary of the WELL Programme going live. In this short period of time almost half of all NICS employees have visited www.nicswell.co.uk clocking up more than 23,000 visits; the WELL Support Team have engaged with more than 10,500 staff in their workplaces throughout NI; with 122 staff expressing an interest in becoming a WELL Champion.
Dr Malcolm McKibbin, Head of NICS, joined the celebration to personally acknowledge and thank the WELL Champions for their positive contribution in improving the health and wellbeing of their colleagues and to present them with their certificates. He remarked:-
“The success of the WELL Programme depends on the successful deployment of its Champions. I strongly encourage all of you to continue to be actively involved and in doing so recognise the support given by line managers and departmental HR teams. I would urge others interested in supporting colleagues to engage and maintain a commitment to health and wellbeing to come forward and join the network of volunteer Champions.”
